The 50th Boat & Caravan Show to Celebrate one of UK’s Great British Success Stories
UK's largest show for outdoor leisure to benefit from 'stay-at-homers' looking for holiday inspiration
The Boat & Caravan Show, the UK's largest show for outdoor leisure, taking place from 22 – 27 February 2011 at NEC Birmingham, is set to attract record numbers as the British public's eagerness to discover the freedom and adventure of independent holidaying in the UK shows no sign of abating.
Having attracted over 100,000 visitors last year, the show, celebrating its 50th anniversary, will be showcasing the latest in new caravans, motorhomes, park homes, holiday homes and lodges, boats, tents, camping accessories and towcars. Visitors will be able to view and purchase the newest Spring 2011 model ranges from leading manufacturers across outdoor leisure.
Visitors will also find thousands of campsites, day-out destinations and tourist boards across the UK and Europe. Experts from the Caravan Club, Camping and Caravanning Club, and specialist media will also be on hand to offer expert help and advice to both newcomers and more experienced enthusiasts.
Renowned as a show that caters for all the family, visitors of all ages can enjoy a fun-packed day with free climbing, canoeing, and kayaking demonstrations. Those new to caravanning can try towing at the show and motorhome manoeuvring courses are also on offer from The Caravan Club.
Chef and TV presenter James Martin will be returning to the show for the second year running, cooking up some 'outdoor' treats at The Rangemaster Cookery Theatre on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 February. Caravan enthusiast and chef Monica Rivron will be launching her 'Caravan Cookbook' and will be cooking on Tuesday 22 Feb - the opening day of the show - as part of Caravan Club Day festivities.
Andy Gibb, Boat and Caravan's Exhibition Director and Portfolio Director of Ocean Media Group Ltd said: "The Boat & Caravan Show, over its fifty year history, has gained a strong reputation for introducing families and individuals to the 'great outdoors' and the advantages of taking caravan, camping and boating holidays.
"The show's continued growth, with the support of the industry and leading associations, not only reflects a Great British business success story but the ever increasing demand for the outdoor way of life and holidaying in the UK."
